ICONPUNKSTHE LIVING SYNAXARION ENGINE · iconpunks.com
Deterministic 24×24 algorithmic hagiography — now bound to the liturgical calendar, the name-day tradition, and the passage of time itself.
Living icons. Every icon carries a feast day, computable from its ID alone — no oracle, no server.
On its feast the icon renders in festal state: radiant gold ground, glowing halo.
Christ icons additionally celebrate Pascha, computed here with the true Julian computus (+13 days, valid 1900–2099).
Fixed feasts follow the New (Revised Julian) Calendar.
Every Orthodox name has a saint. Every saint has a day. Every day has an icon.
Enter a first name — the engine finds the patron saint, the feast date, a canonically matching icon
(warrior saints for George, bishop icons for Nicholas, archangels for Michael…), and the countdown to the
next name day. The lookup is deterministic: the same name always resolves to the same icon.
Veneration wear. The longer an icon is held, the more it ages: craquelure spreads,
candle-soot gathers at the base, colors sink, and at great age flakes of gesso fall away.
Aging is a pure function of (ID, years held) — the production version derives years from the token's
on-chain acquisition timestamp. Restoration resets the clock; its fee is routed to icon-restoration charities.
